Well it's Friday and boy am I happy to say that! Another weekend to spend with my little family and do whatever the heck we feel like doing. Well, I say that but we have some serious chore catching up to do. Our house has become quite the mess with laundry, dishes, clutter, and everything else in it. We've let it go and we need to do some serious work in the morning. I'm going to start some laundry tonight and who knows if I'll get a second wind and feel like doing more before bed. In other weekend news, Vance (my father in law) is coming into town tomorrow morning. I guess he was in Atlanta and decided to drive up for the night. We're so excited to see him! After our fun morning chores, we'll probably go to the pumpkin patch that we missed out on last weekend. AJ's hitting the Haunted House circuit tomorrow night, but I will not be attending. I don't get the same thrill from being terrified by zombies and chainsaws as he does, so it's not worth it for me.
I'm also going to start a new sewing project this weekend. I already made a pair of pajama pants for William out of a T-shirt. That was fun to make, but I didn't do a very good job. The tension was not right and the stitch kept looping on me. And I didn't allow much extra room for the seam, so they fit him quite snugly. Two months ago they would have been perfect. I will be attempting baby shoes this weekend. Wish me luck. I found a super cute pattern, but I don't really know what I'm doing. I'll take a picture and post my projects. After this I'm going to attempt making a little dress. Not for William of course. There's not many easy patterns for boy clothes, so I'm starting with girl stuff. Hopefully, I'll have a girl one day to wear it ;-)
Now, most importantly, what's William up to? Well he's getting more confident in his steps as he will now leave the couch or chair to come to us, not just person to person anymore. He's cruising around everything now, couch to the push toy, to the wall, to the kitchen cupboards so he's pretty darn close to really taking off walking on his own. He's been super happy and incredibly cute lately. Not that he's not always the cutest baby in the world, but yesterday he didn't fuss or throw a fit at all. He was happy as a clam and just playing so good with his toys and with us. One thing that's been a somewhat tough adjustment for me is that he doesn't want to cuddle anymore... ever! He's just go go go. He'll make the occasional pit stop to me and give me a kiss or hug, but as soon as I try to snuggle he's off to the races. He's formed an opinion about things and is not afraid to share when he does not like something. AND, the most amazing thing of all - William turned on our TV the other day!!! You're thinking, "big deal" right? Well, to turn on our TV with sound, you need 2 separate remotes. And for each, you have to hit the button for the right setting and then the power button. Well like a miniature electronics genius, he grabbed one remote and turned on the TV power. Without missing a beat he grabbed the other remote hit the correct button and then turned on the sound. I laughed so hard because he just looked at me like "Look what I did? Ah, it was nothing!" Yeah, we've had adults come over that can't figure out our remote system.
Well, I wish everyone a very happy weekend! Stay safe!
